Las Vegas’s Biggest Dog Event is This Sunday, and Every Dog on the Teal Carpet Is Up for Adoption

Las Vegas’s biggest annual dog event is five days away, and every dog competing is up for adoption. The Animal Foundation’s 23rd Best in Show takes place this Sunday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center on the UNLV campus, and general admission is free.

More than 20 adoptable shelter dogs will compete, strut the teal carpet, and win over the crowd, with every contestant available for adoption.

A Lil’ Rescuers Corner runs from 11 a.m. to noon, featuring face painting, games, balloon animals, dog-themed coloring pages, and a photo booth for kids.

Those who upgrade to VIP get exclusive access to a pre-show brunch and premium floor seating, as well as access to bidding on adoptable dogs, gift packages, and more.

Tickets can be purchased at the door, so no advance booking is required.

This year, Credit One Bank has signed on as the new presenting Top Dog Sponsor in a three-year agreement, with funding going toward lost and found pets, pet adoptions, low-cost vaccines and microchipping, the community pet food pantry, a dog training program, and more.

“We consider them an important piece of our Affordable Housing and Homelessness charitable pillar because pets are part of the family,” said Amber Greenwalt, Senior Vice President of Brand and Advertising at Credit One Bank.

A new All Stars category, created in partnership with Credit One Bank, celebrates pets previously adopted from The Animal Foundation who are now living their best lives. If you adopted from the Foundation, you can submit your pet’s story for a chance to win $1,000.

Past editions have featured celebrity judges including Las Vegas mayors, Strip magicians, and local news personalities. News 3 meteorologist Chloe Koast is confirmed as one of the judges for this year’s event.

At the 2024 event, every single one of the 28 competing dogs found a home. Note that while this is a family event, no personal pets are allowed on the premises, with the exception of service animals.

Parking is available in the Thomas & Mack Center lot, with volunteers directing traffic on arrival. For questions, contact The Animal Foundation at 702-955-5966 or bestinshow@animalfoundation.com.
